Job Description

About the role

Reporting to the Director of Services, you will provide strategic leadership across Ageing Australia’s quality and governance functions, ensuring our products, services, systems and resources continue to deliver exceptional value to members. You will lead a small high-performing team while driving organisational strategy, commercial growth and sector influence across quality, compliance and governance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the strategic direction, growth and continuous improvement of Ageing Australia's quality and governance portfolio, ensuring alignment with member needs, sector reform and organisational priorities.
  • Identifying emerging risks, trends and opportunities and translate them into practical products, services and resources that support providers to deliver high-quality, safe and compliant care.
  • Overseeing portfolio budgets, financial performance and revenue-generating services, ensuring sustainable growth, strong member value and effective risk management.
  • Driving business development initiatives, partnerships and service innovation to expand Ageing Australia's quality and governance offerings.
  • Providing strategic oversight of quality management systems, governance frameworks, policies, tools and resources, ensuring alignment with legislation, standards and industry best practice.
  • Leading the development and continuous improvement of quality and governance content, working closely with internal and external subject matter experts.
  • Ensuring robust governance, reporting and risk management practices are embedded across all quality and governance activities.
  • Overseeing the delivery and continuous improvement of quality and governance products, systems and consultancy services, ensuring they remain relevant, effective and member focused.
  • Representing Ageing Australia in industry, government and stakeholder forums, contributing to sector leadership, reform discussions and strategic initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with members, regulators, partners and key stakeholders to influence positive outcomes across the sector.
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Build capability within the team to support current priorities, future growth and the ongoing success of the portfolio.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Essential

  • 10+ years of experience in quality, governance, compliance, or regulatory leadership (preferably in aged care, health, or community services).
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing budgets, and financial performance.
  • Proven experience in business development and significant growth in the design and implementation of new and existing revenue-generating products and services.  
  • Strong knowledge of aged care regulatory frameworks, standards, and accreditation requirements.
  • Exceptional team leadership, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, particularly in member-based organisations.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and complex portfolios.

Desirable

  • Experience with digital quality management systems or SaaS products.
  • Background in policy development, audit, or risk management.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health, governance, business, or related fields.
